ZeldanFestus Bloopers: Part I

Whenever we take pictures, I always seem to have a stream of bloopers, that in these last three years have never made it to the blog. But sometimes the bloopers, are just as funny and interesting as the actual outfit or photograph series. So I thought why not let my readers see some of the funny faces, and horrible poses that I have done over the years behind the scenes when shooting. Hey I am not ashamed of my bloopers!!

I was asking Joshua what on earth are you doing? I'm tired and it's cold!!!!
So are you enjoying my bloopers? If so trust me there are a plethora of them waiting to be published... Just say the word!!

Shopping Tips - Sale Season

This week in London the Summer Sale season has begun. I went out to buy coveted items I have been eyeing all season on Wednesday - Friday (before and after work). After going out and about I learned a few tricks.

1. When you buy items from stores: i.e.: MiuMiu, Topshop, Jimmy Choo and Liberty, join their mailing list and points programs, that way you always know when sales are going to begin. I wanted these Carven Heels for ages but as you all know I rarely pay full price for designer items especially if I have the inkling that they will go on sale.

2. Always go to the sales on the first day AND early in the morning. Change your schedule for work or take the day off...if you can.

3. Don't buy just because it's on sale. The items that I have bought thus far are items I already wanted all season and knew would go on sale so I didn't buy them full price. I almost wasted £700 on a pair of prada shoes and a bag, when in the end I didn't really want it as they were impulse buys.

4. The Trickle effect, once one store goes on sale all others will follow. Thus if you know the Harrod's sale is starting on the 14th be rest assured Selfridges, and Harvey Nichols are as well. Not to mention Barney's, Neiman's and Saks in the states.

5. Have a budget, say I am going to spend only £200, £500, or £1,000 this sale season and DO NOT exceed it. That way you will make better informed purchases.

6. Check online and BOOKMARK. I have big feet I wear a 8/41 so often times my size is the first to go even BEFORE the sale, so I bookmark sites of the shoes I want in my size thus when the sale season starts I buy it immediately.

7. Last but not least always go to the sales on the first day and during the last 2-3 days of the sale. In the beginning you go early to see if your size is available to buy the items you have been coveting all season. You go during the last few days of the sale because this is when things become dirt cheap. For example there was a pair of Marc Jacobs flats that went for a mere £60 almost 70% off the original price during the last days of the Winter 2012 sales.

So far I have been focusing on shoes today I will go to COS and & Other Stores to check out some apparel. I hope these tips will help you and tell me what you've bought thus far during the sale season!

Flight Mode

Outfit Details: Sweatshirt Topshop (here), HM Skinny Pants (here), Miu Miu Jeweled Black Flats (OLD), Fendi Bag (OLD), and ZeldanFestus Vintage Czech Necklaces (here) more to be added to the store shortly.

Yesterday I flew into Edinburgh to see the Mr. wore something simple that I felt comfortable in. I was going to go down the route of wearing a dress, and Ferragamo Vara's but thought, not today. I want to make my flight and be comfortable... If I was flying to Nigeria now that's another story. Nigerian girls dress to the tee when flying to Nigeria, so I tend to 'try' to keep up, ha ha ha...

Nonetheless, I grabbed my topshop sweatshirt that I have worn a hundred times my HM skinny trousers and a ZeldanFestus Vintage Czech Necklace to add a little bit of extra flare to the outfit. I look tired in these photos and trust me I was as my flight got delayed, but ironically my Mr's flight was delayed as well so we ended up meeting each other as planned at the airport...talk about scary coincidences. These days my outfits are getting simpler and simpler...I guess I am slowly becoming a minimalist.

Yesterday I woke up running late for work and heard the trickle of rain drops on my window seal. London's weather forecast did not indicate rain, something I have become accustomed to in England, so I searched for an immediate outfit change. With the combination of running late, needing to mail orders (thus carry a massive bag) and preserve my flats, I dug through my shoes to find these F-Troupe Cut out rubber flats that I bought last year and threw on all black. I noticed that my blacks were all different shades when I left the house; however, I disregarded my 'fashion mistake' to make a quick dash for the underground. On top of all that the rain didn't last long, oh how I love the unpredictable weather of London!!!

This month I plan to value those around me more, be thankful for being alive and value the good, the bad, and surprises because they make up this journey called life. Have a great weekend and if you're in London enjoy this beautiful weather, I will before I head out to Edinburgh tomorrow.
