Ankara Obsession

One of my current obsessions are ankara designed/printed handbags. My friend Kunbi was rocking one this summer and I asked her where's mine?, as we often do!! I couldn't stop thinking about the fabulous bag she was rocking and taunting me with on our various summer outings (how I miss my girls!) Months later thanks to my dear friend in Nigeria I had several babies to call my own.

These beauties give a pop of colour to any and every outfit, while also reminding my of my background and deep rooted culture. I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

Little Green Dress

While I was in D.C., I stocked up on designer goods at highly discounted prices, like these Nicholas Kirkwood heels. It was amazing, but I think I overdid it! I love the states for that, the amazing vintage and designer sales...however, since I've lived in the UK for the last several years. I now prefer shopping for clothing in the United Kingdom.
 Outfit Details:
Zara Green Dress (Sold Out) similar (here) + (here)
Nicholas Kirkwood Jacquard Heels (here) + (here)
Vintage Shoulder Bag similar (here) + (here)
Assorted Bangles

If I ever move back to the states, I pray COS, Reiss, Whistles and & Other Stories are in the DMV area, lol. Those are a few of my favourite stores at the moment. Sorry that I haven't been blogging as much. I promise to do a minimum of one post a week. I'm currently settling back into Edinburgh and have a lot on my plate at the moment, but that shouldn't be an excuse right?

Have a great day and make this week one to remember!!!

Under 40

I scored this dress on sale last year from Zara for £19.99, the bag is vintage £5.00 and my shoes were also dirt cheap £12.00 from Next during the Christmas sales. Thus my entire ensemble was £38.00. Which comes out to around $63.00, Now that is a steal... I had to prove to one of my friends that I can shop on a budget!!!!
However, after buying so many shoes in the states (blame the summer sales not my old habits) I decided to leave the shoes for my sister. I'm sure she'll put them to use more than I would have! I had a fabulous weekend, we had a cook-out at our house to welcome me back to Edinburgh and it was great to be around family and friends. Be fabulous and stay blessed!

Blue and Black Lanes

Isn't it funny how some pieces you've bought several seasons ago are still some of your favorite go to pieces? I bought this Zara Blouse about 3-4 years ago and it is still a wardrobe staple, for me. I love the fabric and how I can mix it with prints as I've done in the past or a simple outfit. I loved it so much I bought it in green as well.

When fashionistas say buy something you love in various colors, I definitely understand the rational behind that now. What pieces in your wardrobe have lasted several seasons and you still can't get enough of them?

Hope you had a great weekend!!! I spent it packing, travelling, and unpacking...oh how it was so much fun!!!!

Block Blues

There's something about shift dresses that always catch my attention. If you are one of my close friends, you know my of infamous grey and coral COS shift dresses that I can literally wear two to three times a week. You want me to get ready in literally 10 mins? Then those are my go to dresses.  It got so bad that when I went to the Bahamas a month or so ago, my best friend banned the grey dress!
Thus when I saw this ASOS Blue print Long Sleeved Shift dress, I knew it would be a perfect addition to my closet. It is light in weight and tight enough to show you have a shape yet loose enough to hide any unflattering features. I think I paid about £20.00 or so for this dress, it's now a whooping £12.00. Definitely a steal!!!
